In case you missed the Please Stand By message on the LiveJournal, I've pulled the trigger on the PDF versions of both Something Else: The Complete First Season and The Sunday Before You. These are both available under a Creative Commons license, so feel free to download and enjoy. If you really enjoy Sunday, order a copy. Still working up the hard copy chapbooks of Something Else, so stand by for those.

I've already gotten requests from folks for HTML and PDB versions of the files, and that's on the to-do list. So never fear.

The Sunday Before You Goes to Print

Yes, there's the cover. This week copies will be created for the book. Which means I should have some at DragonCon, let's hope. Regardless, pre-publication orders are being taken as of now. This will be a limited run of 75 copies and then it goes away. If you want a copy, e-mail me and let me know. Cost for the book is only $5 and you can hit me up on Paypal for it (widgett@onetusk.com). If you want to send a check, contact me for a snail-mail address, but know the check needs to be made out to John Robinson, since it's his bank account. Shipping is $2 through the regular post and that will get it anywhere.

Sex in one, half dozen in the other, and you say it doesn't matter.
So it doesn't matter. And the guards couldn't stop them anyway.

What Condition My Condition Is In

Well, sorry if there wasn't a lot of pics from San Diego, from which I leave today. I was actually pounding the carpet to talk to folks. It was a lot of small and medium press folks, really. Basically I was interested in people who wanted to get their word out. If they actually had a book that looked worthwhile and were nice enough to say something as simple as "Hi" as opposed to stayed locked in whatever book they were reading (no HP6s, though), then I wanted to see what was up. There were some people that were already in conversations and I tried to get back to them, but I didn't always succeed. Because the floor was freaking huge. So anyway. Not a lot of time to take pictures of weirdos for you to gawk at. There's plenty of other sites covering that, regardless.

So while I was here I finished the second pass on Sunday (damn me for my lineation) and also finished compiling Something Else: Season 1. For Something, I was able to fit what I had always thought of as the first season into the format: the first twenty-four episodes, the last of which is the one about oneirophilia, part one of the first two-parter. So that was good.

Should be going to press soon on both. Stay tuned.

The advance readers have it and have been giving me good feedback. The mockup is printed and I'm marking it up like mad. The damn thing will probably see print this month (if I can finalize the cover) and then it's onto Something Else: The Complete First Season. That will actually be easier to deal with since working on Sunday has put me back in the typesetting swing of things.

The plan for Sunday is for a one-time print run of 75 copies. When I get ready to go to press I'll start checking to see who wants a copy. Love Letters went back to press after we sold out, but that's not happening this time. We have our plans and they will develop as they unfold.

And in case I didn't mention it before, my initial plan for Something Else in chapbook form is to have 25 numbered black and white copies and 25 numbered color copies. Those too will be one-time print runs. Of course, that may completely blow itself to shit if I realize that the photos look terrible. But we'll see.

But hell, this is what publishing is like with the top down. Rock.

Well now that's done: and I'm glad it's over.
