Combine a dehumidifier and a water purifier and you've got a solution to where drinking water comes from in the majority of DBM's world. Now I'm armed in case somebody asks me.
Lord knows I've gotten weirder questions.
Prospective DBMers ask me:
"Dude, are you aware your fly is open?"
Then after an awkward moment and a zip up, they ask me:
"What the hell is Heavy Tech, anyway?"
Well, one way to think about it is to be able to handle a lot more variables. A lot more.
Engadget has just posted a bit about the new wireless networking standard, 802.11s, the nature of which is exactly how the networking in the Atlantic Union (and elsewhere) works in DBM.
There's something just terribly unnerving and cool about seeing this bit of a SF story you're working on suddenly announced for 2008.
