Here's an article on "Hot-Tub Libertarians" by Ryan Sager. Go ahead and check it out, it's not that long.
Here's the part that kills me:
Given that libertarians' traditional home has been in the conservative base of the Republican Party for about five decades, as part of a strained partnership with social conservatives, their almost 50-50 split between the two parties today is big news.
Big news? When the Democrats and the Republicans have, for all intents and purposes, become a single party? And we split down the middle to vote for one or the other because it really doesn't matter which one we give our votes to? This…is big news?
Reminds me of a Bill Hicks routine about the puppet on the left and the puppet on the right. Gah.

No offense, but since one party doesn't think gay people should have as many rights as straight people, I think it matters a little.
None taken, but considering the Democratic contender and the Republican contender for President last time around had the same opinion on that, you might want to be careful who you throw your weight behind.
What do you mean? Bush was for an amendment banning gay marriage. Kerry wasn't. That seems to be a difference of opinion.
Kerry was against it because he wanted it to be a state decision, but he's against gay marriage. Citation. Of course, both parties are equally wrong on this issue because it shouldn't be the government's business who you marry as long as the union is consentual and the bride isn't, for example, 8.
[sigh] I know that politicians in both parties try to have it both ways with 'civil unions' and letting the states decide. But Bush and the Republican leadership is for an amendment against gay marraige.
And allowing radical religious conversatives a strong voice in their party and constantly trumpeting 'family values' shows how the GOP feels about gays.
