But too many parents don't say no. They say "no phone unless you do your homework" or "don't go over your minutes" but unless there's an enforced penalty, they might as well not bother. My own sister is 14 now and she does have a cell phone. But she also has bad grades and a habit of going over her minutes. It just seems like Tae Kwon Do might be a more sound investment for someone worried about their kid. Or maybe I just like being contrary.
