RIP: Ramona Bell

This is terrible news. For those that don't know, one of my few remaining vices is a huge addiction to Art Bell and Coast to Coast AM Radio. It's just such a marvelous freak parade that I simply can't stay away from it. Now, I just spotted this news on Drudge, taken from the Coast to Coast website:

Art Bell's beloved wife of fifteen years, Ramona, died unexpectedly last night after an asthma attack. At present, the exact cause of Mrs. Bell's death has not been determined. It apparently took place during her sleep. Until her death, Art and Ramona Bell had not been apart a day since they were married.

Ramona, for the years and years I've been listening to Art, has always been in the background as a presence of his shows. He does his shows from his home, so Art was constantly referring to Ramona laughing in the next room or commenting or something. So this is truly awful news.

My deepest condolences go out to Art. I'm glad he took as much time off as he did recently, all with an eye towards maximizing family time. Every moment that he had, I know, counts. Especially now.

Ramona, wherever you are, rest well.

Hello-can you please possibly locate the beautiful poem dedicated to Ramona Bell read by Ian on CoasttoCoastam?
I wrote to him but have not had a reply…it contained a line, 'myth is larger than reality…'
    Thanks so much.

Barbara: No idea what that poem is, I haven't listened to that show yet. I download them to listen to them in the car. Googling that line brings me nothing, though. If I get an inkling, I'll let you know.

Even Widge has to shut down sometimes

This is me.

No, really.

I am a writer, poet, spoken word performer, actor, singer, improviser, content creation and idea machine, freelance iconoclast, and the internet's janitor that dispenses pop culture wisdom to the protagonist of your choice. I have seen too many movies, read too many comic books, and when the zombies finally come, I'm the one you want to call. I sure as hell won't answer the phone, but it's the thought that counts. I advise people on the net, websites and technology, because I know these things instead of having a life or sleeping.

If you like something I've done, donate to the Widge Wants to Kill His Day Job Fund. Or if you'd like to hire me for a job, my rates are terribly reasonable. We thank you.
