Dear DC: I quit.

After Sue Dibny's murder–while pregnant, her on-panel (page and a half long) rape, the grey moral paint with which the Justice League I grew up with has been painted, and now the on-panel death of Blue Beetle (not to mention the viewing of his corpse), and the way the "fun" Justice League years have now been painted, plus the needless return of the character who is The Red Hood in the Batman book…

I hereby officially concede the DC Universe to the overgrown fanboys who are both writing and reading it. And to the editors who are asleep at the switch. They may all get off on the "bold, mature, edgy" content and the shoddy recycling of stories, but I've just had enough. There's far too much bad writing in the world to be paying for it in 32-page installments at $2 and $3 a pop.

Even Widge has to shut down sometimes

This is me.

No, really.

I am a writer, poet, spoken word performer, actor, singer, improviser, content creation and idea machine, freelance iconoclast, and the internet's janitor that dispenses pop culture wisdom to the protagonist of your choice. I have seen too many movies, read too many comic books, and when the zombies finally come, I'm the one you want to call. I sure as hell won't answer the phone, but it's the thought that counts. I advise people on the net, websites and technology, because I know these things instead of having a life or sleeping.

If you like something I've done, donate to the Widge Wants to Kill His Day Job Fund. Or if you'd like to hire me for a job, my rates are terribly reasonable. We thank you.
